TRADITIONS

Traditions not everyone has.
Some think it is just razzmatazz.

But traditions remind us of the past
In our life that passes by to fast.

Our ancestors expected
For us to stay connected,

And remember what they did
When we were still a kid.

They want us to pass habits on
To be followed when we are gone,

To have a solid foundation
For each generation.

We have a duty to adhere
To traditions while here.

Traditions, so to speak
Make us unique.

To blend the old with our new ways
Creates many happy days

I is in my genes
To adhere to old routines

And I also create renditions
Of new traditions.

Not to annoy
But for my family to enjoy.
