For this Sunday afternoons thrill…
We planned high tea at Pelican hill.

But, first I received a call…
That my friend sustained a fall…

We rushed to the nearest urgent care instead of the ER
Which was not to far.

Maybe that decision was wrong…
The wait was just as long.

The wound was bleeding a lot…
But friendly the abrasive staff was not.

One gets a real scare…
When needing emergency medical care.

Even if you are bleeding or don’t feel great…
Just sit and wait.

But the MD applied the sutures with skill…
And afterwards my friend felt well enough to be driven to Pelican Hill.

High Tea in this relaxed atmosphere…
With a spectacular view from everywhere…

Was the perfect mending…
Of a Sunday afternoon that could have had a disastrous ending.
