In 2004 and 2012 I was here…
And it does appear…

That Singapore…
Is now more Grand than before…

They used to ship in sand…
To expand their land…

But Indonesia is now only fourteen miles away…
Across the bay.

Now the only room to grow…
It to build as high as they can go .

Old buildings are being razed…
And quickly replaced..

With beautiful buildings-taller then tall
To accommodate them all.

Leaving room for exotic flowers and trees in between
Makes the city look very pretty and green

By car
On this Island…people cannot go far…

Therefor eighty two percent has never been behind a wheel…
Of an automobile.

They rely on cheap and speedy public transportation
That moves them with minimal noise to their desired location

Chewing gum smoking or littering are punishable by laws
Government reinforcing these rules maintains a city with few flaws

Strict laws…we are told… people do not resent.
But keep Singaporeans happy and content
