Seville

SEVILLE, SPAIN

With a forecast of beautiful weather …no rain
We docked in Cadiz…in Spain

While driving two hours in pleasing country scenery..
Of fresh new greenery…

Of the Andalusia grain, grapes, and olives. .new crops…
We saw few homes and no shops.

Then it was a thrill….
To arrive in Seville…

An eye pleasing city…of parks flowers, and unique architecture
An educational tour…with a Moorish and Roman history lecture

Ones there was a Mosque… until…
The Romans converted it into …The Cathedral of Seville

A bit difficult to relate…
To a building this ornate.

In the Jewish quarter next door…
It was explained what happened here before…

How conquering thru the ages became insanity…
While they ignored humanity.

The Kings Palace in lavish Moorish style…
Said to be still in use when he stays in town for awhile .

Lunch with wine at La Scale was lavish…
But not necessarily Spanish.

And while we drove back to Cadiz
I seemed to hear “Carmen” and the “Barber of Seville” melodies

On the eighteenth we will spend
A day on Madeira, my favorite Island
