There was something strange in sight –
After the sandstorm last night.

While John was sweeping,
He saw it creeping.

He almost let out a shriek –
It had no legs but a long beak.

What was moving on the floor –
He had never seen before.

He knew it was alive
And called for Jackie his wife.

But Jacky put his mind to ease,
When she showed him it was a leaf moving in the breeze

John did not believe it to be true
And moved it with his shoe.

And to his surprise,
He did recognize

And did believe,
It was a palm leaf.

We all roared with laughter,
Knowing we will tease him hereafter

About the pet he found
On the Desert ground.
