Life is an array of surprises…
And they come in many sizes.

Just when things seem under control…
Something unexpected takes its toll.

But what I deal with now is nothing new
And it did not come out of the blue

I have had this condition for many years
And only a few times it brought me to tears.

But it recently hit me one morning
Without any warning.

But I did not want to skip
The upcoming Thanksgiving Family trip

I gave my Doctor a clear description…
And he gave me a prescription

But I was not sure
That it would be a cure.

I hoped however it would serve
To calm my trigeminal nerve.

Unfortunately it did not
And I hurt an awful lot

In the meantime my life seems to be on hold…
While I stay out of the cold.

And from most activities I refrain
While I take pills for the excruciating facial pain

I will see an acupuncturist for a treatment
To cope with this bizarre ailment

It is a difficult extremely painful situation
Trying to cope with this trigeminal nerve inflammation

I hope my next week scheduled neurology consult
Will have some result
