MUSCAT OMAN
I was on the Oman shore…
Once before.
In 2012, I visited this country that belongs to Islam
But then did not see Muscat…the Capital of Oman
And again my head swirled…
When we arrived today in this TOTALLY DIFFERENT WORLD.
Men wearing long gowns in white…
Is a strange sight.
And it is still true…
Local women and children we only got to see a few
The City is exceptionally clean
Trash or graffiti is no were to be seen.
Fresh water…they make…
As they have not one river or lake.
Four million people live in this Nation
They pay no taxes, get free healthcare and free education…
They are still building resorts –and trying to reach
More tourist… to their 30000 mile pristine beach
In a large covered space …
Called Muttrah marketplace…
They sell handicrafts and exotic spices…
for reasonable prices.
In Bait Al Zubair museum we saw many renditions…
Of their history and traditions.
Sitting on our balcony we hear…
The moaning minaret sounds very clear…and near!
And while we sail away…
All Oman man bow to Mecca…and pray.
Thankful for what I was able to see…
But living here would not be for me
