How could I have been knowing…
That the person I met coming and going…

At the ocean club Since 1989…
Would become a best friend of mine.

We had demanding careers
And only time for “hello” during these years.

But now in retirement…
We have time that together we spend

To sit and reminisce
About how the busy years we do not miss.

To attend a play
On a Sunday

And we always agree
In selecting elegant hotels for high tea.

Both feeling content
In our retirement.

So I look forward to many more years of quality time
With Donna…long time neighbor… now friend of mine.
