My first house cleaner in 1967 was a Dutch lady here on vacation…
That needed pocket money for her duration.

I was glad she responded to our add…
Because of all the experience she had.

She was older but very fit…
She came one evening a week to babysit…

But while the kids slept…
She dusted and swept.

Gerard and I shopped, dined or saw a movie…
Then coming home to a clean house was very groovy.

I did not have to ask…
After her vacation her daughter Betsie was eager to take over the task

Later we hired Gisela a live-in German nanny…
Old enough to be the kids granny.

When we moved to Montezuma way…
We hired a housekeeper Holly for every day.

Then when we moved to Diamond Bar…
The drive for her was to far.

Bestie again took the job for twice a week….
But due to her arthritis became to weak.

My sister in law Liesbeth came temporarily to help twice a week…
And her continuing for nearly ten years was unique!

We then bought homes in the desert and on the beach
And since 89 I have kept the same help in each

Lupe in the desert retired recently…
I now have Margarita helping me.

Laurencio continues to clean Long Beach…
And I hope that each…

Will stay till I die…
The reason why?

Is that they know the routine…
To keep both my homes very clean.

I am thankful for everyone…
For what they have done.

Because of their help I had time to be a mother and wife…
And pursue a career in my life.

I could have not done all three…
Without them helping me.
