We arrived in Fort Lauderdale…24 miles north of Miami
It was sunny… warm…but a bit clammy.

A stark contrast…
After seeing so many places from the past.

Here in every direction the view…
Is attractive and looks brand new.

The land of Everglades for many square miles…
Beautiful private yachts and privileged lifestyles.

We walked and spend a few bucks…
To have access to the internet at Starbucks.

After three months sailing…on this day…
We had a change to buy a few things again in the USA.

Anneke treated us to a delicious lunch at an Irish pub
And it was terrific to be able to catch up.

And when she dropped us off at the port…
We realized this visit had been much to short.

We settled in for two more days at sea
After which…in Curacao we will be
