BERMUDA
Bermuda…I did not know…
Is one of an 180 Island archipelago.
Discovered By Spanish Juan de Bermudez in 1503…
But he did not land due to the treacherous reef he could see.
Then in 1609 The English “Sea Venture” shipwrecked here…
And Admiral George Somers claimed the Island that year .
But not until 1684 did it become a British Colony
And it remains a British Territory with its own currency.
The tour bus driver/guide…
Showed us the Island that is 22 miles long and 2.5 miles wide.
The multicolor houses were shimmering in the sun
As we drove to the capital Hamilton
Crashing waves like mountains of pure white foam…
Visible from almost every home .
Surrounded by an emerald green ocean with a pink powder beach…
Within every ones reach.
Every building has a pure white roof…
Of natural stone that is very waterproof.
Every drop of rain water is collected and stored …
Loosing a drop they cannot afford.
It’s no hullabaloo…
It is the only fresh water on the Island they have access to.
Bermuda an Island of small size…
But a very pleasant surprise
