BANGKOK,THAILAND
From Vietnam we had one relaxing sea day…
Before we sailed into Bangkok via a different way.
Instead of Docking in Lam Chabang 2 hours from here…
We sailed into the City thru the Bangkok Bar Channel this year.
A bustling City with throngs of people rubbing shoulders…
How do 14 million people survive here one wonders?
The guide proclaims:
Bangkok– is short for the Guinness Book Record of 22 official names.
This land of golden temples and smiling people appears magical and exotic
But also very chaotic.
A historical building on almost every block…
But the Grand Palace is the most famous landmark in Bangkok
Visited “Wat Traimit” the Temple of the Golden Buddha of 5.5 ton
Comparable to none !
We saw the Emerald Buddha in “Wat Phra Kaeo” or Royal Chapel
The opulent display is hard to grapple.
We cruised on the Chao Phraya river for a scenic ride
While the guide pointed to many landmarks with pride
We cruised the Chao Phraya river to lunch in a very clean hotel…
But getting in and out of the boat for many did not go very well .
At the end of our excursion time to shop
In what they called a “reputable shop”
I was in this City in 2004
But crowded…it is much (MUCH) more!
