51 years ago today…
I arrived in the USA.

I flew back often to visit family…
And a little KLM house became a treasured memory.

This Dutch airline…
Still hands out these Delft blue houses of Dutch design.

Replicas of characteristic old Dutch houses from KLM…
Each of them filled with Dutch jenever are a little gem.

I have collected 39…
Each is still filled with the famous Dutch brine,

After I received the first one…
I started this collection for fun.

There elegance…
Is a conversation piece in my Desert residence.

My cleaning lady is aware…
That she has to handle them with care.

I need to mention…
Years ago flying for me had a different dimension.

A dear friend would never pass…
If he could upgrade me to first class.

He facilitated…
The shelves of Dutch houses I created.

Had he not retired…
All 89 I probably could have acquired!
