There is something to be said…
For watching this 127th rose parade from my bed.

For 51 years, I have not missed this show;
But only once, did I go.

January 1, 1987 I will not forget –
We viewed the parade from as close as we could get.

But now on my big screen TV…
Every detail I can see.

And with my electric bed in the upright position…
I am enjoying the 2016 rose parade rendition.

While I see it all
From my bed…having coffee with a Dutch “Oliebol”

Truly mind boggling…
To see such a large variety of flowers blossoming.

And in every shade,
Cover the floats in this parade.

These magnificent floats
Seem to quietly float by like boats.

Thousands of spectator hands
Waving to the multiple marching bands..

And it seems…
Each year, there are more equestrian teams.

Yes, in this New Year I begin
to enjoy taking it all in.

As I plan for the coming year…
To pursue laughter and cheer.
