In 1989, we sold our Diamond Bar gated estate
And bought two condos, also behind security gates.

Both within driving reach –
One in the Desert, the other on the beach.

A perfect combination…
For golf and sailing recreation.

The home was sold to someone from the Orient
Who had lots of cash to spend.

But we were not glad
For the thought that his dollar could buy EVERYTHING we had.

We sold a lot…
Because taking everything to our smaller homes, we could not.

But we did not sell our treasures or what was antique
Or things that were unique.

We followed our dream…
Of decorating each Condo in a different theme.

I cried many tears
When John died after living here not even for three years.

Thankfully, I met my second love.
Now both man send comfort from above.

These Condos that we bought in 1989
Have seen many happy and sorrowful times of mine.

I am at ease living in either place alone
As long I remain in this earthly zone.
