Loved Ones

MY LOVES

The two man I we’d
Never met.

But they would have been glad
If they had.

Because they had few disparities
But many similarities.

Both had temperament and were driven
Success they desired, that was a given.

Both became successful business man
With an attitude “I can.”

Both enjoyed reading and read a lot
Both drew better then average but pursue it they did not.

Both marched proudly but often wary
In the Dutch military.

A compulsory demand
But proud to serve their land.

Both loved the USA very much
But their passports remained Dutch.

Both had smoked
And enjoyed a good joke.
Loved Ones
Both man of mine
Liked Dutch cheese herring a beer or a glass of wine.

Both were very smart
Traveled, played and worked always very hard.

They did not wait for free bees or hand outs
And they skillfully redirected the darkest clouds.

Both became successful in this land
Because they developed opportunities at hand.

Both belonged to professional entities
And both provided very well for their families.

Both were true to their wife’s
All their lives.

Both had energy and zest
With each my life was at its best.

Both were considerate, loving, and kind
and will forever be on my mind.
