MRI
Oh, my!
I am waiting for another MRI!
They try to gain
Another view of my brain.
I was asked to come in on a Sunday at five,
Which made it for me an easy drive.
I was guided to a tiny room upstairs
That had only room for three chairs.
Two were occupied by people that looked very stern
awaited their turn.
The staff appeared indifferent because handling a machine
For them is routine.
I seems to be the norm…
To first fill out a form
To list if you have a clue
If any metal is hidden within you.
I told them before the exam,
How claustrophobic I am.
But they ignored to hear or see
My plea.
Inside the tube was no light
And I was strapped in very tight
But then they apologized very loud
When I screamed to get me out.
I was put in a different machine
One to which I also will never wean
But at least there was light
And I was not strapped in as tight .
I hope for sure
That no more MRI’s I have to endure
