LONG BEACH TO CABO SAN LUCAS MEXICO
In the morning I saw the Carnival Splendor cruise ship from my living room window in Long Beach.
This time. the cruise departure was almost within reach.
Another cruise for seven days,
With nine family members coming from different ways.
From Phoenix, Seattle, Orange and Long Beach
An easy flight or drive for each.
For me leaving from my home town is great,
As for sure I will not arrive late.
The Carnival Splendor is big and well-maintained,
No wear and tear from all the people that are entertained.
The cruise terminal is better than most I have seen
And the skyline is more attractive than many places that I have been.
The Ocean Club, along the bay,
Looks elegant from here, I must say.
And it is a pleasant sight,
To see the flashing light
That from my neighbors balcony, shine,
While we sail away with a glass of wine.
3600 cruisers ready to party and eat
While 1100 crew members try to meet their every need.
The smooth rolling motion
And all the “seeing each other again emotion”
Put us early to rest,
So tomorrow we can feel our best.
Day two on board was relaxing, with a gala at the end of the day
Where a pirate with a photographer in the dining room came our way.
When, after dinner, ketchup on Conner’s shirt we could see,
He stated “ I did not do it! It was the pirate who bit me!”
It is a joy to see the world through a child’s eye,
And to see and hear the things they try.
I will try to make every moment last,
Because this week I know will pass too fast.
