A concert in the park,
In the early evening before it is dark.

Is not something you want to miss.
Because the experience is pure bliss.

The Long Beach Municipal band,
Plays on a bluff above the strand.

People set small tables to dine,
And bring a water bottle filled with wine.

Alcohol is not allowed in public places,
And people do their best not to leave any traces.

As long as there is no abuse,
Authorities ignore the use.

People consume all kind of food,
And every one is in a good mood.

All ages attend
Because in their busy life’s, it is time well spend

At the time the band strikes up the first note,
People put on their coat.

To feel the cool evening breeze,.
And hear the tunes that please.

It’s everyone’s fear..
That this is the last year.

It is a real pity,
That the leaders of this city,

No longer has sufficient funds for this event,
Because they say there is no more money to be spend.

But then, the public does not request a paid band,
There are many amateur musicians in this land,

That are eager to be referred,
To give a concert in the park where they can be heard.

Or the municipal band could charge a fee,
Instead of playing for free.

It seems there is more than one way
For people to hear a band play

And not fear,
that this was the last year.
