We spent two long days in this beautiful sunny city…
Having to leave so soon was a real pity
We visited the wilderness park “Featherdale’
Were we saw many kangaroo’s…with a very long tail!
We were able to touch a koala bear…
That did not seem to care.
Drove two hours west of the city and made several stops
We admired the “three sisters” mountain tops
Went down in the worlds steepest scenic railway car…
Scary…and luckily not to far…
A walk in the rain forest along coal mines…
Over a boardwalk with mild inclines.
It was thrilling to gaze…
At the Blue Mountains named for the blue haze
That is created by the eucalyptus tree…
And every visitor unmistakably can see .
Returned to the top in the scenic cableway
At the end of the day
Experiencing this Bushwalkers paradise
Was worth the energy and price
On the second day we toured the city that is clean and pleasing to the eye
But we wondered why…
As it seemed bizarre
That also here… by far…
In this “down and under place”
The Chinese appear to outnumber every race.
We are told real Estate is very high priced
And only the Chinese can afford it and seem enticed.
It seemed every Chinese person young and old had come to meet
As Chinese New Year was celebrated this week-end on the street
While the indigenous Aboriginals ruffled their drum
To make everyone feel welcome.
The harbor cruise was impressive
In this city that appears very progressive.
We walked Bondi Beach in its turquoise water and soft golden sand
Which is said to be the most famous beach in this land.
We visited with Margaret’s local friend
And felt the two days in Sydney had been very well spend,
It is a place for which one …can yearn…
To someday return!
