Everything seems to have shifted
Since manners were lifted.

There is a lot of chagrin
Because courtesy seems no longer in.

Some people are openly rude
And don’t hide their bad mood.

Some think it is alright
To no longer be polite.

It is a shame…
But respect for each other is no longer the same.

If everyone could just try to elect
To treat each other with a little more respect.

It only requires a little effort from you and me
And the benefits are free.

The world would be so much nicer
If everyone behaved a bit wiser

Lets not be wrong
And wait to long

To loose sight
Of treating each other right.

Because then people could have forgotten
How to resolve feeling rotten .

All I wanted to say…
A few niceties go a long way.
